As of the summer semester 2006, the short list of medical
engineering education possibilities in Switzerland will be augmented
in the canton Berne by a unique master course of studies in Biomedical

Hans-Florian Zeilhofer, professor at the Basel University Hospital,
has been elected to the NCCR Co-Me management committee. He is
replacing Simon Wildermuth who has has resigned due to his new
position as Head of the Radiology Institute at the St. Gallen
Hospital.

October 3, 2005 ---
Simon Wildermuth, leader of the radiology project Advanced vessel wall
analysis, has been elected as new Head of the Institute of Radiology
at the Kantonsspital St. Gallen. It is the largest radiology institute
of Switzerland. Due to his new position, Simon Wildermuth has decided
to resign from his functions as a project leader and member of the
management committee of the NCCR Co-Me by end of September.

Congratulations! Denis Crottet, PhD student working in Bern and
Lausanne within the NCCR Co-Me has received the 2005 research award of
the Swiss Society for Biomedical Engineering (SSBE). With this prize
he is honored for his outstanding achievements during his thesis,
entitled A force-sensing device for assistance in soft-tissue
balancing during knee surgery. abstract
