Co-Me Spin-off makes virtual endoscopy a reality

November 2007 ---
Co-Me member and ETH Zurich engineer Stefan Tuchschmid is taking the
helm at the recently founded company VirtaMed. The start-up - Co-Me's
fifth commercial spin-off - will market simulation software for
endoscopic surgery.

Congratulations! Co-Me member Benoît Dagon has received the 2007 Best
Poster Award at the 11th Annual Conference of the International
Society for Computer Aided Surgery ISCAS which was part of the CARS
2007 Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery International Congress
and Exhibition in Berlin, Germany.

On March 3, 2007 the new Biomaterials Science Center of the University
of Basel will present its activities during a day long symposium and
open house. The newly elected Thomas Straumann Chairman of Materials
Science in Medicine and former Co-Me CEO Bert Müller, PhD is cordially
inviting colleagues and interested parties to this day-long event.

Katja Nuss receives Co-Me research grant

Dr. Katja Nuss, a habilitation candidate in Veterinary Surgery at the
Musculoskeletal Research Unit (MSRU), Equine Hospital, Vetsuisse
Faculty of the University of Zurich, is the receiver of the NCCR Co-Me
research grant for the advancement of women 2006.
