Our congratulations go to Co-Me researchers Dr. Christoph Stieger and Dr. Jens Kowal. They have both been elected to hold Junior-Professorship positions at the recently founded Artificial Organ (ARTORG) Center for Biomedical Engineering Research of the University of Bern.

Christoph Stieger (Co-Me project 3) will be able to focus his research on the design and development of novel hearing systems and advanced technology for cranio-maxillofacial (CMF) surgery.

Jens Kowal (Co-Me project 8/3) is going to further explore computer assisted retinal laser photocoagulation systems and develop new approaches in ophthalmic surgery and implant technology.

The new chairs were made possible by the Medical Faculty of the University of Bern, together with the University Hospital (Inselspital) and affiliated research institutes.
