Student Award for Europe at the EMBC 2010

Setup for detecting oxygen
 
The oxygen sensing microrobots can be used in the posterior segment of the eye. The inlet photo shows two microrobots, their length is 2 mm.

Congratulations to Olgac Ergeneman from the Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems at ETH Zurich where he is involved in the Co-Me Ophthalmology project. He received the Best Student Paper Award for Europe at the 32nd Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC2010) held in Buenos Aires 31 Aug to 4 Sept 2010. His paper entitled Oxygen Sensing Using Microrobots also received Second Prize Overall.
