Congratulations to Matthias Peterhans and Professor Stefan Weber from the
Center for Computer Assisted Surgery of the University of Bern. They have
passed the second stage of the Venture Kick competition with their start-up
company CAScination, a collaborative effort of the Institute of Surgical
Technologies and Biomechanics and the ARTORG Center. The team has been awarded
another CHF 20'000 grant for the development and marketing of their business
idea: a navigation system that enables surgeons to more accurately perform
liver surgeries.
CAScination is the second Co-Me start-up which is successful in the Venture
Kick competition: In 2008, Virtamed
mastered all three stages and won the complete seed capital of CHF 130'000.
