Launch of Swiss Institute for Computer Assisted Surgery

September 2011 ---
The Swiss Institute for Computer Assisted Surgery (SICAS) was
officially launched on September 14. During the next two years SICAS
will carry out a step-by-step take over and extend the activities of
the NCCR Co-Me which will come to an end by mid 2013.

Liver navigation featured on BBC World News

July 2011 ---
Researchers of the Co-Me related start-up company CAScination have created a way of
allowing surgeons to operate on the liver without causing unnecessary
damage to healthy tissue. Their liver navigation system was featured
on BBC World News' format "Horizons".

Co-Me at the Hannover Messe

March 2011 ---
Two research groups of the NCCR Co-Me have been invited to participate in
the upcoming Hannover Messe 2011.
They will have an exhibit at the Swiss Pavilion booth organized by the
competence centre for Swiss foreign trade promotion OSEC.

Career Step for Guoyan Zheng

Januar 2011 ---
The NCCR Co-Me congratulates PD Dr. Guoyan Zheng. He has received the Venia
docendi for Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Interventions from
the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Bern.
