The NCCR Co-Me congratulates their members PD Dr. med. Philipp
Jürgens, University Hospital Basel and PD Dr. Philippe Büchler,
University of Bern; both have received the Venia Docendi recently.
Philipp Jürgens is a CMF surgeon at the Basel University Hospital
and the leader of the Co-Me research activities focused on 3D planning
and navigated CMF interventions. Philipp Jürgens is also a co-founder
of the Co-Me start-up company AOT
AG . This new company is dedicated to the development of medical
devices for advanced osteotomy pursuing the vision of innovative bone
surgery using lasers, robotics and navigation systems.
Philippe Büchler is Head of the Computational Bioengineering group
at the MEM Research Center, University of Bern, and project leader of
the Co-Me VSD project. His research activities focus on understanding
the biomechanical response of human tissues, developing models
describing the behaviour of these tissues and using this knowledge to
propose novel implants or surgical treatments.
