Congratulations to the team of KB Medical, a new Co-Me
start-up at EPF Lausanne: Out of 191 submissions, their company was
selected by the Jury of the Swiss Start-up competition Venture 2012 as
one of the ten winners of the award Best Business Idea. The awards
ceremony was held at ETH Zurich in the presence of Peter Brabeck,
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nestlé. KB Medical has
also won an award of CHF 20'000 presented by the foundation
Dr. René Liechti in Nyon. The goal of both competitions is the
support of young entrepreneurs in founding start-up companies.
The team of KB Medical has specialized know-how in the
development of cutting-edge medical devices for robot-assisted
operations. With the development of the Neuroglide, a high-precision
surgery robot for spinal screw placements, both operation risks and
recuperation time are cut significantly.
